Successful Olympics are testimony to human endeavour. Persistence, courage, work, determination and goal clarity are only a handful of from the noble human characteristics evident of any Olympics. And we can all understand from these. But there's significantly more to learn.When the medalists stand about the podium, they obtain all of the plaudits. There may be nothing incorrect with that. They've out carried out all other competitors. They've sacrificed all sorts of things to appreciate their achievement. But they represent only the tip from the iceberg.Every competitor in an Olympics, particularly the successful ones, represents a little company. Without another members of the company the athlete wouldn't be prosperous. We know concerning the coach or coaches and support from various sources. And if we've been associated with elite sport we know concerning the doctors, physiotherapists, sports psychologists and other healthcare and paramedical support.

But there are numerous others included – loved ones, pals, clerical staff, sports administrators and a lot of volunteers. The successful Winter Olympian is merely the suggestion of this enormous iceberg of unseen help.Regardless of how prosperous you are: no matter how successful your business is: no matter how much drive, talent, power, passion or eyesight you have, you require support. And most of the people who provide that support won't have your drive or talent or vision. But they're vital to your success and that of the business.

In the past 30 or so years, the self-development movement has become very popular. I have no problem with that. But I've noticed that some "successful" graduates of this motion appear to undervalue the importance of their help methods.All businesses have "stars": an outstanding salesperson, a brilliant technician, an accomplished administrator or finance manager. There are the individuals who often obtain the outstanding rewards and personal and expert accolades. But they need competent and dedicated support staff.
