A custom display board or as it is sometimes called, the custom dry erase board, has a glossy surface that prevents permanent markings or scratches. This is due to the melamine resin and steel coating that was put on its surface. The use of custom dry erase boards have been popular since 1990 and are commonly and widely used in schools, hospitals, offices, churches, community centers and several other places where a convenient and easy to clean message board is needed.

There are, however, many types of the custom bulletin board and custom display board that are made of porcelain and are very durable. It is however, a lot more expensive than the regular boards. Another benefit of the porcelain based boards is that it does not lighten over time as a melamine made board, since it does not have any openings that the ink (although erasable and non permanent dry erase markers are utilized) can get in. The porcelain made custom dry erase board obstructs and also hinders any ink from entering into the board so it retains its natural white color.

There are however, some solvents contained in the erasable markers that cause a white mark to remain on the surface of the custom dry erase boards. When this happens, there is an available cleaner that are specifically and specially designed to wipe away these white and ghost – like marks. As compared to chalk boards, dry erase boards and even a custom bulletin board is highly portable and is a lot less messy to use. As a matter of fact, the making of these dry erase boards were chiefly to avoid any health risks that students can experience from inhalation of the chalk dust.

Aside from clearing any mar when they are cleaned well, a custom display board and dry erase boards are excellently portable and can be easily hanged on a wall as it is very lightweight and handy as well. These boards can also have plastic frames on both sides to enhance its looks. There are customers however who prefer special backing or frames. These can be requested from the manufacturer and discounts can also be given for bulk orders. For instances when a permanent marker is mistakenly used instead of a dry erase marker, there is a special kind of eraser ink that can easily be bought or for those who have a nail polish remover on hand, all you need to do is dab a little of the nail polish remover on a piece of cotton and rub it onto the surface of the board. The writings made by the permanent marker can be quickly erased.

There are also magnetic boards that can easily be used to post notes and messages from using magnets. It is also quite easy to utilize tape to post messages and paper on it for decorations. The glossy and smooth white surface is highly resistant to scratches as well as dents. Unless of course you hit the thing with a sledgehammer – that of course would do it in – but then again, why would you do such a thing?
