What Do You Need To Have Your Own Craft Business Online?

By June 11th, 2010

Have your family and friends ever told you how much they love to recieve the crafts you do? If they have you might want to think about whether you should start a craft business online.

Starting a craft business is actually fairly simple to do. Especially since you no longer have to have a real bricks and mortar store or spend an exorbitant amount of money starting your craft business up.

If you make something that you think people would be happy to have then you can easily turn your hobby into your very own business on the Internet.

What do you need to start a craft business?

Not as much as you think, you are going to need to be able to take pictures, have access to the Internet, have about $5, and of course, have a craft to sell.

Do you have to be a wizard at taking pictures?

Nope. It does not really matter what your level of expertise at taking pictures is. However, I'm sure you have heard the saying that pictures are worth a thousand words and that is never truer then when you are selling crafts on the Internet.

The pictures you take of your crafts are the only real thing connecting your potential customer with their desire to purchase your product.

Take your time when taking your pictures and make sure that you are playing with the background and lighting. Being able to take good pictures is something you are going to have to learn how to do and it will take time but the only way you are going to get better is by doing.

Don't let your inability to take perfect pictures stop you from starting your own craft business though. Taking good pictures is somthing that will grow with you over time just like your buisness will.

So, where would you sell crafts online?

There are a few different places to start to sell handmade crafts online but my personal favorite is Etsy.
