Make Sure Your Business Does Not Become A Job
Getting into the right business is extremely important. Starting the wrong business can be as awful as not starting a business at all. Many people start their own business to get away from a regular employment and work for themselves. You should be careful that whilst you select a business to start it does not become just another job in its own right.
Lets look at the business model with care, if you require your business to furnish you with a respectable income but also give one more time, as certain business models could give you the income but not inevitably any more time. Some business models in reality dictate that you need to spend more time working in the business than you would have done working in your old nine to five occupation, especially if you are the sole boss and worker in he business. For instance starting up your own store with no staff means you could have to be in the shop all the time it is open, which means weekends and weekdays are taken up with you being at your work. The other problem is that outside the shop opening hours, much more time would need to be spent on buying stock and doing book work. You might be the one who has to do their own book keeping and prepare the accounts.
If your shop is open seven days a week then these can be some very long hours to work in the shop as well as handle the things out of work.Like my friend with his dog rain coats shop who needed just as much time working out of the shop as in it. The shop example is only one type of business that could be classed as just a glorified job that you own yourself. Another example could be a driving instructor. The time aspect may not be any better as you are there all the time but the source of income should at least be better. If you are not working in the job then you do not get paid. Apart from taking on the teaching bit, there is still the maintaining and washing of the automobile and the books and advertising that comes with it.
Then what in fact makes a good business? Well you want your business to give you a passive living, what I mean by that is the source of income should be coming in without someone having to be at work to obtain it. Purchasing rental properties is a effective way to acquire a passive income. The tenant is paying you rent each month and you do not even have to be there.
A second way of making a passive income is by using the Internet. Running a dog clothes business from home might have been a much better means for my friend and he could have had the products drop shipped. Websites might be set up to produce passive income without you being there once the initial time is spent getting it right. There are other types of businesses where you can possibly find where other people work for you so you do not have to be there, but ideally the less time you have to rely on yourself running the business then the business will work for you.
