By June 17th, 2010

The iPhone has quickly become the most popular and well-known smartphones on the market; with its fantastic touch-screen display, WiFi, 3G and Edge connectivity as well as a myriad of applications and games the iPhone (currently the 3Gs) is top dog when it comes to compatability, popularity and design.

But how, if at all, can the iPhone aid you in running your business? The answer is a definite yes, and in many different ways. Let's start with the size and power of the iPhone; it's so powerful in terms of connectivity, data and email functions that it's like having a laptop with you at all times. It your work has you travelling a lot, then carrying a huge amount of files, folders or even your chunky laptop can be very annoying, but the iPhone removes this problem completely.
The internet connnection on the iPhone is excellent and will almost always be able to find some sort of connection, whether it's WiFi, 3G or Edge. With the way the phone is set up, this means you'll have access to your emails so you're never out of touch, the internet (accessed through Safari) and general instant access to whatever information you require. Wherever you are in the World you'll always have access to the data you need to do your job.

The size, weight and memory of the phone also make it perfect for those who are always on the go, and it up to 32GB memory it's perfect for business use. If you're on a plane or other form of transport you'll have total access to your films, books and music as well as your work (and personal) emails. If you're on the ground and trying to find an address for a meeting, you have instant access to Google maps or any of the multitude of sat nav apps available for the iPhone. Not to mention being able to stay on top of those work messages and emails, meaning you never have to return to the office to a stuffed inbox again. The amount of data the iPhone can hold means you'll always be able to take important documents with you to client meetings, check your PDF's or your asset management software, read word or excel documents, whatever you need to do.

The security is superb on the iPhone too, making it ideal for business use; say for example a work iPhone goes missing and you don't want someone having access to your list of fixed assets? You can utilise the basic keylock security measure or the iPhone support remote wiping, meaning you can instantly wipe sensitive information from lost or stolen phones.

The screen on the iPhone is also perfect for showing visual data to clients; the 3.5 inch screen making it ideal for viewing talks, videos, spreadsheets, whatever you need.

Whatever your requirements of your business phone, the iPhone will be able to meet and exceed them. All you need to do is find a suitable application, and with hundreds of thousands available on the App Store, with a bit of searching you're sure to find something useful. They truly are amazing inventions and i wouldn't want to be without mine when it comes to personal or business use.
