How Good Customer Service Can Boost Your Profits

By June 20th, 2010

Customer service is one of the key things to remember in business. You may know the ins and outs of your business or its model, you might even be a whizz-kid with PLR but when it comes down to it, if your customers aren't happy then they won't spend or come back to you.

Take a step back and really think about your customer service. It doesn't matter where your customer contact centres are based or if you have the best plug and play profit system in place, your front line team represent your company and need to be showing it off to its full potential. Even if your call centre is located thousands of miles away it doesn't mean you can forget about it, give it just as much attention as any other part of your business.

When a customer contacts you, as they do more and more often these days they want to know that the person dealing with them and their enquiry is able to handle what is thrown at them, you also want them to think highly of your company based on that point of contact.

Firstly you need to make it so that your customer no matter who they are or why they're contacting you can actually get hold of you and in varied ways. Not everyone likes to spend money on a phone call so have a free line or better still to boost your income online and have a great website where people can contact you via email or contact us facility.

The site can clearly show your details as well as having a section for the customer to easily contact you with 1 box to send a message and 1 click to send to you directly, making sure they get a confirmation email always helps as well to let them know that your technology has worked and you're dealing with their query. Communication is key!

However accessible you are you need to make a good first impression train all your contact or call centre staff the same, have mass training and make sure that it is spot checked often, workers can often be lazy and not follow procedure.

Keep on top of this and you're off to a winning start and you'll be one step ahead of your competitors even if your product isn't as good as theirs you'll have a reputation for being friendly and accessible and that counts for a lot!
